Destiny Year One is drawing to a close, leaving us with a string of happy memories

It wouldn’t be a videogame in 2015 without pre-order bonuses. Destiny’s “The Taken King” expansion has already caused no shortage of trouble concerning the exclusive items that come along with the Legendary and collector’s edition of the game in an explosive bout of growing pains as the developer balances the desire to placate old fans while still attracting new ones. But anyone that pre-orders any version of “The Taken King” at any retailer will get access to the Suros aresenal pack, including an auto rifle, scout rifle, pulse rifle, shader and emblem. Customers that pre-order also get access to the Vanguard weapon pack, which includes a pulse rifle, sidearm and auto rifle. The items will be exclusive to those that pre-order until January 1st, 2016, when everyone will get access.

Destiny Year One ends in September after what I’m fairly comfortable calling 12 months of beta testing. To reward the faithful, Bungie came up with a scheme whereby players who have completed a series of challenges would score an emblem – even if they’re quite new players, and excluding those who have played all year but not quite made it.

But that’s okay, right? Because veteran Guardians have one very special thing Kinderguardians will never understand: their memories.
