Valve has put together a little virtual reality playground for those of you keen on returning to Aperture Science.
The Lab is a “compilation of VR experiments” set in the world of Portal, Valve said in a press release.
The bundle of experiences will debut at GDC 2016 next week, and will release for free on Steam sometime in northern spring.
We don’t know what sort of activities The Lab includes, but we do know it’s designed to show off the Vive’s room-scale VR capabilities.
While there’s been no rumblings as regards a new Portal game (and given how Portal 2 ended, I think that’s just peachy), it’s nice to be able to revisit the setting. Valve has already visited Aperture a few times in its earlier VR demos, and you can even check some of this out at home now thanks to the SteamVR Performance Test, which predictably contains the usual references to things that might be Half-life 3 and Left 4 Dead 3.
The Vive is priced at $800 and launches in April.
