Carbine Studios has been reorganized by parent company NCsoft, which has resulted in a number of staff cuts.
The lay-offs can be attributed to the cancellation of the Chinese version of WildStar.
According to NCsoft’s community and social director Omeed Dariani, Carbine studios will shift focus on “operating and updating WildStar as a live game” in the US and Europe.
The cuts were also a result of the MMO’s performance since its June 2014 release as well as evolving the product to a live title.
NCsoft has assured players it is committed to WildStar and a significant update is slated fore release “within months.”
A few months post launch in October 2014, close to 60 staffers were laid off and the game went free-to-play the following year on September 2015.
