Sea of Thieves! Let’s set sail and, this is important, not set fire to the sail. Come on, crew.
Sea of Thieves is a multiplayer sandbox in which players take to the sea, singly or in crews, to hunt treasure, battle monsters, dominate other crews and, in more likely scenarios for my personal friends list, sink horribly because nobody is doing their jobs correctly because they’re busy singing a sea shanty.
While Rare is yet to really open up on what the game experience will be like, it has given us a decent look at it. In the video above, Arekkz gathers up new footage from Rare’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, explains what’s going on, and speculates on some the many unknowns of Sea of Thieves.
Sea of Thieves will release in 2017 and is a Play Anywhere title – which means it has cross-buy on PC and Xbox One, although it doesn’t guarantee cross-play.
It will be the first new, non-Kinect Rare release since Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts in 2008.
