When Age of Triumph was announced as the last update to Destiny, Bungie wasn’t kidding.
According to the latest weekly update, Bungie reconfirmed the current sandbox in Destiny won’t “get another design pass.” This means no balance updates, gameplay tweaks and the like. It’s sole focus at the moment is on Destiny 2, after all.
Hopefully, once the game is out in the wild and all release hiccups have dissipated, the team will give Destiny 1 a thorough exam.
“All hands at Bungie are committed to making Destiny 2 the sequel that this community deserves,” said Deej. “We have a Beta this summer that will demand your bug reports.
“This fall will begin an entirely new cycle of updates for a brand new game that we think will be the best answer to the feedback you’ve give us since the original launch of Destiny.”
At present though, the team is looking into an issue where some Activity Statistics have not been appearing on Bungie.net. The team is “determining ways to restore missing statistics” which occurred from May 21-24.
Until the issue is resolved, Bungie said third party applications which rely upon the Bungie.net API for stat collection will be impacted until a fix is implemented. Once resolved, it could take up to 48 hours for statistics to be processed.
The team is also investigating an issue preventing players from accessing their Friends list under the in-game Roster tab. Those who are experiencing the issue should sent a report to the Help forum with as much information as possible.
As far as Destiny 2 is concerned, Bungie said it will show off the new Arcstrider Hunter in action at E3 2017. It will be interesting to get a peek at the new subclass, and we expect this to occur during the Sony presentation, as Activision has a exclusivity deal with the firm as with Destiny 1.
Destiny 2 releases on September 8 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A release date for PC is TBD.
