Server stability issues have prevented Sea of Thieves players from enjoying some crucial newly-added features.
Yesterday was quite the day for Sea of Thieves players and developer Rare.
The anticipated patch 1.07 went live, bringing private lobbies, the ability to give other players items such as bananas and planks, and a few other updates to the progression system.
A little over two hours after, Rare realised that being able to give other players resources is causing major issues, and took servers offline in order to remove the feature.
From 14:45 BST the #SeaOfThieves servers will be offline for approximately 1 hour. Unfortunately the feature which enables players to hand other pirates resources is causing an issue and as such, needs to be temporarily removed from this patch while we investigate further.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of it, as soon after players started reporting increased instances of the Allmondbeard errors. After investigating, Rare decided to take servers offline again for emergency maintenance.
This time, the developer removed the private lobbies feature, temporarily.
Due to a high volume of AllmondBeard errors we’ll be scheduling another emergency maintenance window at 16:15 PDT. During this window we’ll temporarily remove the Open/Closed Crews feature as well as the invisible underwater gamer tags. We’ll post more information as we have it. pic.twitter.com/KBRpYxVLTU

Until the time of writing, these features remain off while Rare still works to find the root cause. The game also still suffers from stability issues, despite the removal of the new features.
The last update was posted earlier this morning.
Morning pirates. We're still working on fully resolving the issues currently affecting #SeaOfThieves. The game is still experiencing server instability and players may experience issues. More updates to follow. Thanks for your patience!
