Soon you’ll be able to make it rain ink in Splatoon

Since its release at the end of May, Nintendo’s third-person squid shooter, Splatoon, has received several updates enhancing the overall game experience – with new content arriving on a regular basis.

It appears more free DLC is now on the way, with a new Japanese Splatoon trailer showcasing new weapons, attire, maps and the upcoming Rainmaker mode.

A few highlights include a demonstration of a new ink-powered mini-gun and also the more basic paint bucket. In addition to this is a quick glimpse of a new map, and a look at the Rainmaker mode weapon which functions in a similiar fashion to an Inkzooka.

According to a video breakdown of the game trailer by GameXplain (thanks, Squidboards) the other new weapon will be the Rainmaker, which will likely only be available in the mode of the same name.

You can check out that video through the link.

You’ll also notice in the video above a glimpse at the Camp Triggerfish map, which releases this weekend.
