Some of the titles listed for February 23 are PlayStation Store exclusives, so if they don’t pop up you may need to wait for your local PSN refresh date.
Ubisoft picked a good week for Far Cry Primal as there’s little in the triple-A space to contest it. The series wanders off into a prehistoric setting with this one, and there’s a bunch of survival elements to contest with. Despite these changes, I’m not sure Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 will present much competition.
The next biggest news is probably the return of Telltale with The Walking Dead: Michonne – Episode 1: In Too Deep, but there’s loads going on in the digital space besides this heavy hitter. Square Enix is re-releasing the excellent Hitman Go, which will both serve to promote the upcoming new game and benefit from the great success of the Tomb Raider equivalent. Disgaea finally makes its way to PC, too.
If you’re looking for something a bit different, Superhot is a gorgeous stylised shooter in which time only advances when you move, foregrounding the constant second-to-second tactical play of FPS games. Meanwhile, The Flame in the Flood is an isometric survival and crafting game on a procedurally-generated river.
There’s a few Wii U downloadable titles this week but more interestingly the 3DS has a couple of gems. Mega Man Legacy Collection is yet another excuse for Capcom fans to empty their wallets, while Europeans can enjoy Bravely Second: End Layer.
