IO Interactive’s Hitman will return… and we’ll find out the details on June 7th.
The most recent Hitman game had a pretty rough launch, but surprisingly, it managed to transition itself into one of 2016’s best games. Now IO Interactive is teasing brand-new content, which will likely consist of a second season.

Hitman (2016) broke from the franchise formula by adopting an episodic release schedule. Instead of playing the entire game at once, fans returned for individual missions over the course of a year. It was a controversial format, but one that mostly worked – it gave IO more time to polish each content release, and opened the door for bonus missions when the season was completed.
Now with the Definitive Edition has arrived, the question is what IO Interactive has planned next for Agent 47. A new tweet from the official account suggests we should have an answer soon. While additional bonus missions are a possibility, it’s more likely IO is paving the way for a brand-new Hitman season that integrates with the latest game.
Whatever the case, you should expect Agent 47 to receive a new assignment soon. IO Interactive will have further details for us on June 7, 2018.
